Letetia holds a Ph.D. Mathematics and M.Phil. Statistics from UWI, St. Augustine. As a Senior Fellow Advance HE, she is an experienced educator and statistician, with over a decade of expertise leading tertiary courses in Mathematics and Statistics. In 2024, she led her team to first place in the Global AI Innovation Challenge 2024 hosted by the UNFCCC in collaboration with Enterprise Neurosystem, with the winning proposal “AI-driven climate resilience for Small Island Developing States (AI4SIDS)” selected from 114 entries out of 62 countries. In 2022, she also led the GRD Climate Resilience Data Challenge’s winning prototype for flood risk prediction in the OECS. She holds several technical and advisory roles including the Disaster Risk Reduction Centre Advisory Board and American Statistical Association. She is a Women in Data Science Ambassador, actively providing support through various outreach initiatives. Letetia specialises in multidisciplinary, data-driven research in climate change and education.
